You have heard the name Twitter for a quite a while now. In this world of RSS headline readers and bumper sticker slogans this is the place to feed your brain with snippets galore. Some people dismiss the service as TOO much information. But, just like many relationships, conversations and usefulness can go deeper with time and context. For Instance: Robert Scoble and Steve Rubell use Twitter religiously to share their ideas and people follow their every word. From a business perspective the community is extremely useful. Twitter monitoring sites like Summize are popping up all over the place and marketers again can hear what people are really saying about their brands or their competitors. Some brands “got-it” it early and came on board quickly. And some brands use the service in very unique ways ex: a whole team of customer service folks at Zappos are using the service to its fullest. Just like blogging it isn’t enough to have a presence but it is crucial to offer something of value and have a real person on the end of the message. Is your brand active on Twitter?
